About the Wolf WR1 1977
Walter Wolf Racing was founded in 1977 by Canadian businessman Walter Wolf and his team`s WR1 competed from 1977 until the 1978 Monaco GP. Driven by Jody Scheckter, the WR1 won on its debut at the 1977 Argentina GP, which was a great accomplishment as it was the first race for both the team and car. The WR1, created by Hesketh Racing designer Harvey Postlethwaite, was light and considerably compact. Four WR1s were made and designated with chassis numbers WR1-WR4. They were all basically the same but depending on the course, two kinds of wheelbases were prepared. J. Scheckter also won the Monaco and Canadian GPs and claimed 2nd in the 1977 drivers` championship.

A Memorable Debut
Founded by Canadian businessman Walter Wolf, Walter Wolf Racing’s WR1 made its debut at the 1977 Argentina GP and sensationally won the race. It was a historic result as it was the first time ever for a new team to win their debut race with a new car. The WR1 was designed by Harvey Postlethwaite and featured a light and considerably compact design. With Jody Scheckter at the wheel, the WR1 also went on to win the Monaco and Canadian GPs. At the end of the season, Jody Scheckter finished 2nd in the driver standings while the team finished a respectable 4th in the constructor standings despite only fielding one car.

This is a 1/20 scale plastic assembly kit model of the Wolf WR1. Length: 199mm, Width: 100mm. The sharp form of the car has been realistically reproduced. DFV engine, transmission, and suspension have been precisely replicated. Cockpit features details such as pedals and seat cushion. High quality Cartograf markings are included to depict the car’s livery including gold stripes, Canadian national markings, and sponsor logos. Photo-etched parts and metal air funnel covers are included for greater realism. Cockpit cowling and induction box are removable even after assembly.
